In the world of premium strollers, UPPAbaby has long been a favourite among discerning parents.

With the recent launch of the Vista V3, many are wondering how it stacks up against its predecessor, the Vista V2

Let's take a closer look at these two strollers, comparing their features, similarities, and differences to help you decide which one might be the perfect fit for your family.

A Tale of Two Vistas

V2 SPECS:

  • Unfolded: 32.8” L x 25.7” W x 39.5” H

  • Bassinet Weight: 8.8 lbs

V3 SPECS:

  • Toddler Seat suitable from 3 months to 50 lbs.
  • V3 Bassinet (sold separately) suitable from birth, up to 20 lbs, or until infant can push up on hands and knees (whichever comes first)
  • Folded: 16.3” L x 25.7” W x 33.8” H
  • Unfolded: 36.5” L x 25.7” W x 39.5” H
  • Stroller Weight: Frame + Seat: 27.6 lbs.
  • Underseat basket Weight Capacity: 30 lbs.

At first glance, the Vista V2 and V3 might seem like twins separated at birth!

Both strollers share similar dimensions and weight capacities, and weight-wise, they're nearly identical. The V2 frame and seat weigh in at 27 lbs., while the V3 is just a tad heavier at 27.6 lbs. Both strollers boast a generous 30 lbs. weight capacity in their under-seat baskets, perfect for all your on-the-go essentials.

However, one notable difference is the bassinet situation.

The V2 Stroller comes with the V2 Bassinet, but the V3 stroller doesn't include the V3 Bassinet. Instead, UPPAbaby offers the V3 Bassinet as a separate purchase, giving you more flexibility in your stroller setup (and potentially saving you money if you don’t need/want a bassinet).

Similar Rides

Despite their generational gap, the Vista V2 and V3 share many beloved features:

  • Easy Fold: Both strollers feature a convenient one-step folding mechanism that allows the stroller to stand independently when folded. This makes storage and transportation a breeze, especially when you're juggling a baby and diaper bag!
  • Versatility: The Vista line is known for its ability to grow with your family. Both the V2 and V3 can convert from a single to a double stroller with multiple configurations using the toddler seat, bassinet, compatible infant car seats, and Rumble Seat. This adaptability makes it an excellent long-term investment for growing families.
  • Travel System Ready: Both models seamlessly attach to UPPAbaby's Aria or Mesa car seats, creating a convenient travel system. This feature allows you to transfer your sleeping baby from car to stroller without disturbance, making errands and outings much smoother.
  • Reversible Seating: Both the Toddler Seat and the Rumble Seat can face parents or the world ahead. This flexibility allows you to maintain eye contact with younger babies or let curious toddlers explore their surroundings.
  • Safety Features: Both strollers prioritize safety with 5-point, no-rethread harnesses, ensuring your child is secure. UPPAbaby also includes extendable UPF 50+ canopies that provide excellent sun protection for your little one's sensitive skin during outdoor adventures.
  • Adjustability: Comfort is key in both models. They offer reclining seats with six positions, adjustable footrests to accommodate growing legs, and adjustable handlebars to suit parents of different heights. The bumper bar can also be adjusted or removed for easy access.
  • Easy Cleaning: Parents will appreciate the machine-washable fabrics on both strollers. Inevitable spills and messes can be quickly dealt with, keeping your stroller looking new and fresh!
  • Expandability: Both the V2 and V3 are compatible with the Piggyback Ride-Along Board, allowing you to accommodate a third, older child. This feature is perfect for families with multiple children of different ages.
  • Included Accessories: Both strollers come well-equipped out of the box. While the V3 doesn't come with a bassinet, they both include a bumper bar for added security, a toddler seat rain shield for unexpected showers, a bug shield to protect from insects, and a storage bag to keep your stroller clean when not in use.

V3 Upgrades

While the Vista V2 is a solid performer, the V3 brings some exciting upgrades:

All-Weather Comfort Seat: The V3 introduces a new Toddler Seat design with a removable liner. This innovative feature allows you to adapt the seat for different seasons, ensuring your child's comfort in various weather conditions.

Magnetic Buckle: The V3 features a new magnetic buckle system, making it significantly easier and quicker to secure your child. This user-friendly upgrade is especially helpful when dealing with a squirmy toddler!

Improved Wheels: While both models use polyurethane tires, the V3's wheels incorporate extra rubber and air. This makes them lighter without compromising quality, resulting in easier maneuverability and a smoother ride.

Enhanced Suspension: The V3 boasts a new FlexRide suspension system, an upgrade from the V2's all-wheel suspension. This improvement promises an even smoother ride, better absorbing bumps and uneven terrain for both parent and child.

Reflective Accents: Safety gets a boost in the V3 with the addition of reflective accents on the wheels and basket. These enhance visibility during low-light conditions or evening strolls, providing extra peace of mind for parents.

Additional Certification: While both strollers meet strict safety standards with REACH and JPMA certifications, the V3 goes a step further. It's GREENGUARD GOLD Certified, ensuring it meets rigorous chemical emissions standards. This certification indicates a commitment to creating a healthier environment for your baby.

Final Thoughts

Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and V3 are excellent strollers, packed with features designed to make parents' lives easier. The V2 remains a solid choice, especially for those who appreciate having a bassinet included from the get-go.

The V3, however, brings some thoughtful upgrades to the table. Its all-weather seat, magnetic buckle, and improved suspension system offer enhanced comfort and convenience. The option to purchase the bassinet separately also provides more flexibility for parents who may not need it.

Ultimately, the choice between the V2 and V3 may come down to personal preference and specific needs. If you're drawn to the latest features and don't mind the separate bassinet purchase, the V3 could be your perfect match. On the other hand, if you're looking for a tried-and-true model with an included bassinet, the V2 remains an excellent option.

Whichever Vista you choose, UPPAbaby delivers a high-quality stroller that’s designed to grow with your family and make your parenting journey a little bit smoother.
