Jump to Section

Are you looking for the perfect stroller to meet the needs of your growing family? Perhaps you’re still on the fence about having more children down the road? Well, Snuggle Bugz has got you covered!

Whether you are expecting your second child, having twins, or simply keeping your options open in case you decide to expand your brood later, a convertible stroller is a fantastic option. A convertible stroller allows you to add a second seat, transforming it into a double stroller. In some cases, you can even add a small ride-along board for a third child to catch a ride! This expandability can be a godsend if you want to tow around several children at the same time.

If that wasn’t enough, these strollers can also accommodate infant car seats, turning them into a bonafide travel system (note: this varies by model and may require adapters).

Tandem vs. Side-by-Side

On most convertible strollers the seats are stacked in tandem (one in front of the other). However, there are a couple of products on the market like the Donkey 5 Mono that can convert from a single stroller into a side-by-side double stroller (more on this product later). To learn more about the differences between these two types of double strollers, click here.

We carry a variety of convertible strollers that will make you and your little one the talk of the town! So buckle up and grab a snack as we break down our top convertible strollers for you!

UPPAbaby Vista V2

  • RumbleSeat Weight Limit: 35 lbs.
  • Included Bassinet: Yes
  • Travel System Friendly: Yes
  • Ride-Along Board Compatible: Vista Piggyback Ride-Along Board
  • Free-Standing Fold: Yes

The Vista V2 Stroller by UPPAbaby is one of the most popular convertible strollers on the market — and with good reason! This baby is full-loaded with parent-favourite features and is available in a wide variety of fashions, so you’ll have no problem finding one that fits your style. To meet the needs of your growing child, the stroller comes with a bassinet (for newborns) as well as a toddler seat. Once baby number two hits the scene, you can reuse your bassinet before purchasing a RumbleSeat down the road. The Vista V2 can also be used with two bassinets, so it is a great option for twins too.

With all-wheel suspension and full recline, your child can rest easy during the V2’s smooth operation, with both the seat and bassinet attached in either forward-facing or rear-facing positions. Equipped with a 5-point harness and a HUGE UV-proofed canopy (as well as a rain shield and bug shield), you’ll have all the necessities to keep your kiddos safe and happy.

Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono

SPECS:
  • Toddler Seat Weight limit: 50 lbs.
  • Weight Limit for Second Seat: 50 lbs.
  • Included Bassinet: Yes
  • Travel System Friendly: Yes
  • Ride-Along Board Compatible: Comfort Wheeled Board
  • Free-Standing Fold: Yes
  • Basket Capacity: Under-seat Basket: 22 lbs. / Luggage Basket: 22 lbs.

As previously mentioned, the Donkey 5 Mono is one of the only strollers on the market that converts from a single to a double side-by-side stroller. The seats are positioned a little bit higher on the stroller to be closer to their parents and can be used in a few configurations. The Mono configuration is single-use, with either the bassinet or toddler seat used with the side storage basket.

When you are ready, you can use the stroller in Duo Mode by removing the luggage basket, expanding the frame width-wise, and adding a bassinet or second toddler seat. This stroller can also be used in Twin Mode with a second bassinet.

Because of the equal weight distribution, this side-by-side stroller is a dream to push and has the benefit of having a full 50 lbs. weight limit for its second seat (unlike other strollers on our list). With its soft-touch fabrics and padding, children stay cozy, and parents will love how small this stroller compacts when folded, making it easy to stow in your trunk.

Cybex Gazelle S 2023

SPECS:
  • Weight Limit for Toddler Seat: 50 lbs.
  • Weight limit for second seat: 50 lbs.
  • Included Bassinet: No
  • Travel System Friendly: Yes
  • Ride-Along Board Compatible: Gazelle S Kid Board Free-Standing
  • Fold: Yes
  • Basket Capacity: Under-seat Basket: 30 lbs. / Shopping Basket: 25 lbs.

The Gazelle S 2023 Stroller from Cybex might be the most underrated stroller on this list. This stroller comes with tons of great features at a reasonable price point. Included in the box are a toddler seat, car seat adapters, and a small (removable) shopping basket that can be used when the stroller is in single mode. While the stroller doesn’t come with a bassinet, it can accommodate a newborn with the purchase of the Gazelle S Cot.

The stroller folds to a compact height of only 12.2 inches, which makes for easy transport and convenient storage in homes with little room to spare. An XXL UPF 50+ canopy protects baby’s skin from UV light, and a one-pull harness helps get children in and out of the seat with minimal effort. Babies come with tons of extra stuff, so we really appreciate that parents can tow up to 55 lbs. of essentials between the under-seat basket and shopping basket.

The Gazelle S is also flexible, allowing use in over 20 configurations, depending on if you’re using it as a single or double stroller. When a new bundle of joy joins the family, you can convert the stroller to a double with the purchase of a second seat or the Cybex Cot. The stroller can also be used in twin mode too!
