Today we are comparing the Thule Urban Glide 3 by Thule and the BOB Alterrain Pro by BOB. Both are all-terrain rigs with air-filled wheels — but the similarities stop there.
Ready, set, let’s go!

Newborn-Ride Ready
Both strollers can be used from birth (walking) as part of a travel system with a compatible infant car seat.
BOB: Accepts select infant seats with a separate adapter (Britax, Cybex, Maxi-Cosi). Additional adapters may be available. Walking only until 8 months; jogging after.
Thule: Clicks in the Universal / Chicco Adapter or Maxi-Cosi / Nuna / Cybex Adapter. The Urban Glide 3 is also newborn-friendly with a few other accessories; the Newborn Nest, Bassinet, and Newborn Inlay. Jogging waits until six-plus months.
Handlebar & Handbrake
BOB: Has an ergonomic 9-position handlebar + bicycle-style handbrake (right-side lever).
Thule: Has an ergonomic 5-position handlebar + flip-flop-friendly twist handbrake centred on the bar.
The BOB offers more height stops, but Thule’s central twist brake is ambidextrous and easier to grab mid-stride. Both include wrist straps for extra security.
Wheels & Suspension
Both strollers roll on air-filled 16-inch rear tires and a lockable 12-inch front swivel wheel with reflective rims. The Urban Glide 3 sports a reinforced fork connection and upgraded suspension for an even smoother ride, while BOB’s SmoothShox™ suspension keeps bumps at bay on technical trails. Lock that front wheel before you pick up the pace — nobody likes the “speed wobble.”

Canopy
BOB: UPF 50+ canopy with plastic peek-a-boo + extra mesh panel.
Thule: UPF 50+ canopy with plastic peek-a-boo, pop-out visor, and zip-open extension with ventilation panels.
Both protect tiny passengers from sun and drizzle, but Thule’s expandable hood creates a darker nap cocoon.
Seat & Recline
BOB: Has a one-hand recline and ventilated seat with the widest seat-pan at 36.8 cm.
Thule: Has a one-hand recline, ventilated seat, with a more upright top position + integrated leg rest (seat-pan 31.5 cm).
Although BOB is wider, Thule’s upright option and leg rest keep curious kiddos comfy when awake and fully supported when snoozing.
Cargo Basket & Extra Storage
BOB: Has a zip-top, waterproof basket + 2 in-seat pockets, 2 seat-back pockets, and a phone pocket on the handle.
Thule: Has a larger 15-lb zip-top basket with Velcro tab, 2 in-seat pockets, a seat-back pocket, and phone pocket on basket.
Both carry the essentials, but the Urban Glide 3 ups the capacity — handy for grocery runs or layered weather gear.

The Fold
BOB: Has a twist-bar + yellow button = one-hand fold; self-stands.
Thule: Has a pull-and-twist handle = one-hand fold; smaller footprint.
Stroller Weight
BOB Alterrain Pro: 32.3 lb
Thule Urban Glide 3: 26.2 lb — six pounds lighter! Hauling a stroller plus a toddler into the car is a workout; every pound saved is a victory.
Final Thoughts
Both the BOB Alterrain Pro and the Thule Urban Glide 3 will crush gravel paths and city pavement alike.BOB has the advantage of a thicker nine-position handlebar, durable waterproof fabrics, a wider seat, plus extra pockets. Thule takes the lead in from-birth riding options, its lightweight design, built-in leg rest, expanded ventilated canopy, flip-flop twist brake, and larger basket.
