If you’re a busy parent looking for a compact, lightweight stroller to help you navigate life’s adventures with your little one, the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 or the City Sights Stroller may be just for you!

Baby Jogger has been a top-selling brand for parents who want to continue to live life to the fullest and to share new experiences with their children. Standing by the quality and durability of their gear, Baby Jogger backs each stroller with a lifetime frame warranty.

Both the City Tour 2 and the City Sights stroller are built with busy parents and small spaces in mind. The City Tour 2 is a lightweight travel stroller built for urban living and travellers, and the City Sights is the most compact-folding 4-wheel modular stroller, featuring a reversible seat and all-terrain performance to keep both you and baby comfortable wherever you go.

Let’s break down the deets so you can decide which stroller is best for you and your babe!

The City Tour 2 is one of the lightest and most compact Baby Jogger strollers on the market. At a mere 14.3 lbs. it can be folded down and popped into most airline overhead compartments with the included carry bag. As a travel stroller, it also comes at a lower price point and folds to almost half the size of the City Sights stroller.

The City Sights is almost double the weight and price of the City Tour 2, but as a full-sized compact modular stroller it comes with a deeper reversible seat and all-terrain performance. Winning the 2022 Reddot Design Award for outstanding product design, the City Sights can expand with your family and be used in 8 different configurations using the addition of a pram, infant car seat, and/or glider board.

The Fold

Both the City Tour 2 and the City Sights strollers are compactable for urban dwellers and world travellers. If you’re an avid Disney lover, both strollers even meet the Disney size requirements!

The City Tour 2 is best suited for families who need an ultra-compact and transportable stroller. In one step, it folds up to 85% smaller than when it’s unfolded, making it easy to pop into your trunk or store in a small living area without compromising all your storage space. To squeeze it into even smaller spaces, you can easily pop off the wheels!

If you’re okay with checking your stroller at the gate when travelling, the City Sights is just as good an option as it is super easy to fold up one-handed, transport, and store. When folded, it’s almost double the size of the City Tour 2, but with all the benefits of a full-sized stroller with the slim storage of a compact, it is the most compact 4-wheel modular stroller on the market.

The Push

As a parent of littles, you’ll want a stroller that can easily maneuver a multitude of surfaces. You never know when you’ll need to veer off the beaten path while simultaneously using your magic powers to keep your little one sound asleep.

The City Tour 2 has been tried and tested on a multitude of surfaces. With durable, lightweight tires it provides a smooth ride throughout your little one’s journey. Whether you are pushing the stroller on grass, gravel, or carpet, you can scoot around the park, city trails or library without cursing the wheels of your little one’s ride. Due to its small size, it’s also a breeze to whip through tight spaces and narrow store aisles without waking your little one from their midday slumber.

The City Sights stroller takes it up a notch with all-terrain wheels and front-wheel suspension, making this stroller a better option for parents who want an even smoother ride for all types of terrain. Given the compact size of this stroller, it comes with impressive large back wheels that can handle the bumpiest of roads and pathways without shocking your little one awake from their much-coveted nap. It also comes with an adjustable vegan leather handlebar, which makes it even easier to maneuver for taller parents without creating extra strain on your back.

The Seating

A stroller seat can make or break the ride for your little one. If you are a family on the go, they will arguably spend a substantial amount of time strapped into their 4-wheeled friend. Which means, you want to be certain it’s a comfy ride, so you aren’t dealing with a wailing one while you’re out and about running all your errands.

The City Tour 2 comes with a forward-facing, padded seat that reclines to a near-flat position so your little one can enjoy the sights or lean back for a midday snooze. The strap-operated backrest requires the use of one hand to recline the seat and two hands to raise it back up, but you can adjust your babe to a multitude of positions that best suit their preferred seating angle. To maximize their comfort, you can also adjust the calf support to three different positions so they can stretch out their growing legs.

When Mother Nature is doing her thing, you can keep your little one safe from the elements with the extendable UV 50+ canopy while keeping an eye on your babe through the mesh window. On those rainy days, you can easily add a weather shield to keep your little one dry.

The City Sights has a one-handed recline to only three positions with the rear-located lever, including a near-flat position for optimal nap time. Unlike the City Tour 2, the seat on the City Sights is ergonomically shaped and can be reversed in one easy step. If you want your little one to have the best of both worlds with the option to face you or the world around them, the City Sights may be the best choice for you. Like the City Tour 2, it also comes with adjustable calf support for your babe’s growing legs.

For added safety, the City Sights has a vegan leather belly bar, which keeps your little one tucked in for any unexpected bumps along the way. The belly bar can also be swapped out for a child tray to keep your little one’s sippy cup and snacks within arm’s reach, an option the City Tour 2 does not have.

The City Sights also has a UV 50+ canopy with a mesh window, but it isn’t extendable like the canopy on the City Tour 2. Instead, it boasts a zippered ventilation panel that provides a cool breeze on those hot summer days.

The Expansion

One of the top questions from parents about strollers is if it’s compatible with an infant car seat and if it can expand with their growing family. We are happy to report that both the City Tour 2 and the City Sights strollers are compatible with infant car seats, with some limitations, and the City Sights can expand with the glider board for your older, confident riders.

Unlike its predecessor, the City Tour 2 is compatible with an infant car seat so you can transport your tiniest babe straight from the womb! Compatible with the City Go Infant Car Seat and City Tour 2 Adapter, you can make your very own Baby Jogger travel system

If you prefer more versatility with your expandability the City Sights stroller may be your pick. Compatible with a variety of infant car seat brands (such as most Baby Jogger, Britax, Chicco, Clek, Cybex, Graco, Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Peg Perego, and UPPAbaby) you can easily turn the City Sights into an instant travel system with the appropriate adapters.

If you prefer your itty-bitty babe to snooze laying down on the go, you can also pair the stroller with the City Sights Pram. Both the infant car seat and City Sights Pram are great options for using the stroller from day one!

Unlike the City Tour 2, the City Sights also has the option to expand with your family with the glider board, allowing older siblings to join along for the ride!

The Storage

The City Tour 2 and the City Sights strollers boast an undercarriage basket with a 15 lbs. capacity. With open-easy access you can pop in all your essentials for the day without fearing the basket is going to bottom out from the stroller.

Even with the same weight capacity, the basket on the City Sights is larger than the City Tour 2 and it comes with an additional storage pocket on the back of the seat, which the City Tour 2 does not have.

For additional storage on either stroller, you can easily accessorize with a parent console to keep all your parental essentials within arm’s reach.

Ready to Explore?

Now that we’ve laid it out for you, you can make the right decision for you and your little one. Whether you need an itty bitty compact-ability stroller like the City Tour 2 or a more versatile full-sized stroller with a compact feel like the City Sights stroller, both strollers are a great option for all your adventures and urban travels.
