Similar Features
The Silver Cross Wave and UPPAbaby Vista V3 are two convertible strollers that share several key features. Let's delve into the commonalities that make both these strollers stand out!
-
Multiple Configurations: The Wave and the Vista V3 are both designed with flexibility in mind. In single mode, they can be used with a bassinet, a car seat attached, or toddler seat attached. As your family grows, you can convert your stroller to a double stroller, using the strollers with a bassinet and toddler seat, two bassinets, or two seats. To use with two seats, you will pair the toddler seats with the Wave's Tandem Seat and the Vista V3's RumbleSeat (both are separate purchases). -
Travel System: Both strollers can transform into a travel system by attaching a compatible infant car seat to the frame. The Vista V3 seamlessly accommodates the Mesa V2 Infant Car Seat or the Aria Infant Car Seat (or other car seats with adapters), while the Wave offers compatibility with a range of options such as Nuna Pipa, Clek Liing, Maxi Cosi Mico 30, and Cybex infant car seats (using this adapter).
-
Reversible Seating: Parents love having options, and both strollers deliver by providing reversible seating! Whether you want your little one to face you or explore the world ahead, the choice is yours.
- Buckle Mechanism: Both strollers feature a magnetic buckle that effortlessly clicks together in seconds.
- Wheels and Suspension: Navigating various terrains is a breeze with the Wave's all-terrain wheels and full suspension. The Vista V3 steps things up a notch with its FlexRide suspension system that delivers a smooth ride and better bump absorption.
-
Safety Features: Both strollers prioritize safety with 5-point harnesses, ensuring your child is securely fastened during every journey.
-
Adjustable Features: Both strollers offer reclining seats and adjustable footrests for your child's comfort. The handlebar and bumper bar are also adjustable, ensuring that parents can find the perfect height for a comfortable grip. Wrapped in stylish and durable leather, these features add a touch of sophistication to the overall design!
What's Different?
Variety is the spice of life, and these two strollers bring their own unique flavour to the table to win you over!
-
Bassinet Comfort: Both the Vista V3 and the Wave are newborn-friendly when used with a bassinet. However, the Wave stroller comes with a bassinet, while the Vista V3 Bassinet is purchased separately. The Wave's bassinet has a luxurious padded mattress made of natural bamboo fabric, offering antibacterial qualities and excellent temperature regulation. The Vista V3 bassinet features an adjustable UPF 50+ canopy with extendable sunshade, ventilation panels, and a open-air mesh mattress.
For those who need extra bassinets (ie. you’ve got twins), you can purchase the Vista V3 bassinet and Wave bassinet as standalone items.
- Canopy Design: The Vista V3 toddler seat boasts an extendable, height-adjustable canopy with UPF 50+ protection, incorporating zip-out fabric and mesh panels for enhanced airflow. On the other hand, while the Wave's canopy is equally fantastic, it doesnt have the extendable options.
-
Toddler Seat: The toddler seat on the Wave has a greater weigh capacity, allowing up to 55 lbs vs. the Vista V3's 50 lbs limit. However, the Vista V3 makes up for it with its newly designed all-weather seat with breathable mesh back.
- Second Seat: Both strollers allow you to add a second seat, however, the Vista V3's RumbleSeat can only accommodate children up to 40 lbs, while the Wave's tandem seat is good for children up to 55 lbs!
- Fabric Composition: Silver Cross takes a sustainable approach, using outer fabrics woven exclusively with yarn from recycled plastic bottles on the Wave (the seat unit contains 56 bottles, and the bassinet comprises 75 bottles!). In contrast, the Vista V3 does not highlight the use of recycled materials in its fabric construction.
- Underseat Basket Capacity: When it comes to storage, the Wave takes the lead with an underseat basket that can hold up to 33 lbs. In comparison, the Vista V3 offers a slightly smaller (but still impressive) capacity of 30 lbs.
- Colour Variety: The Vista V3 caters to diverse tastes with an assortment of colours, allowing parents to choose a stroller that perfectly matches their style preferences. On the contrary, the Wave is available exclusively in an all-black colour option.
- Accessory Options: Both strollers offer a range of accessories to enhance the user experience. Notable accessories for the Vista V3 include the Cozy Ganoosh Footmuff and Piggyback Board (to learn more, check out our Vista V3 Accessories article). The Wave also has great accessories like the Wave Changing Bag, Bassinet Stand, and Snack Tray.
- Price Point: Silver Cross’ luxury status makes the Wave the pricer option of the two, while UPPAbaby offers a more budget-friendly option with its Vista V3.
