Your stroller is the one piece of equipment that will stick with you from infancy through to preschool (and beyond). It’s a big investment because it gets a TON of use.

There are many things to consider when shopping for a stroller.

Do you live downtown and do lots of walking on busy streets? Or do you live in the country and require a product that can handle rough terrain? How much storage space do you have? Will this stroller have to accommodate more children in the future? How much room do you have in your trunk?

Those are just a few examples of the considerations to keep in mind as you search for the right stroller for your family.

In this article, we are reviewing two parent-favourite products, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and the Bugaboo Fox 3 Complete. Both strollers receive fantastic reviews, but is one more suited for your lifestyle?

Keep reading as we discuss the similarities and differences between these strollers.

The Basics

THE SPECS:

UPPAbaby Vista V2:
  • Stroller Weight: 28.6 lbs
  • Dimensions: 36″ L x 26.5″ W x 39.5″ H
  • Wheel Size: rear: 11.5”, front: 8”
  • Weight Capacity: Suitable for children up to 50 lbs

Bugaboo Fox 3 Complete:
  • Stroller Weight: 21.8 lbs
  • Dimensions: 33-42" L x 24" W x 35-43" H
  • Wheel Size: rear: 12”, front: 8.5”
  • Weight Capacity: Suitable for children up to 50 lbs

Both strollers are suitable for children up to 50 pounds, however at 28.6 pounds the Vista V2 is around 7 pounds heavier than the Fox 3.

Regardless of weight, you can count on both strollers to deliver a smooth ride for baby. The Vista V2 features all-wheel suspension, large durable tires, plus independent shocks, while the Fox 3 has central joint suspension paired with 4-wheel suspension and large puncture-proof wheels.

The Bugaboo Fox 3 Complete is very easy to manoeuvre, which is helpful when you need to enter shops or avoid people walking on sidewalks. The Vista V2 is also very responsive, and perfect for families going on nice long walks in the suburbs.

The Seat

Both the Bugaboo Fox 3 Complete and the UPPAbaby Vista V2 come with a full-sized reversible toddler seat, a bassinet, and with the option to attach an infant car seat to create a travel system.

BASSINET:

The bassinets easily attach to the frame of the strollers and can be used from birth. Both bassinets come with mattresses that have been rated sleep-safe, allowing your newborn to snooze comfortably in a flat position. However, the Fox 3 features a breezy mesh panel for optimal airflow which can be closed in the cooler weather and sealed with magnets. The Vista V2 has a vented bassinet base and a separate canopy to help keep your child cool. The depth and ventilation of the bassinet mattress allow the option to use it as an overnight sleep solution for newborns.

CAR SEATS:

As mentioned earlier, you can attach infant car seats to both strollers to make quick trips into town a breeze. You can click the Mesa V2 Infant Car Seat directly onto the Vista V2 frame, while the Bugaboo Turtle One and Turtle Air by Nuna also install in a snap using the adapters that come with the stroller. These strollers are also compatible with other car seats with use of adapters (sold separately).

TODDLER SEATS:

Both toddler seats can be attached to the stroller frames facing the parent or switched around to face in the world. The Vista V2 seat has a 5-point, no re-thread harness for optimum safety and offers a one-handed, multi-position recline. The Fox 3 has a 5-point seat harness with dense padding, a “quick click” release button for easy unbuckling, and has a 3-position recline.

The biggest difference between the two strollers is that the Vista V2 offers multiple configurations to accommodate a second or third child, should the need arise.

The Vista V2 effortlessly converts from a single stroller to a tandem double stroller with the purchase of a RumbleSeat, while the Fox 3 cannot.

However, you can add the Comfort Wheeled Board to the Fox 3 for your toddler to catch a ride. You can also add the Piggyback Glider Board to the back of the V2 to accommodate a third child.

Creature Comforts

GET A GRIP:

Both strollers feature bumper bars and an adjustable handlebar that allows for a more ergonomic push for parents of all heights. However, the Vista V2 boasts premium, full-grain leather on the handlebar and bumper bar, while the Fox 3 has a PU leather-look.

STAY COOL:

The Vista V2 has an extendable and height adjustable UPF 50+ canopy that is great for growing children. Similarly, the Fox 3 boasts an extra-large canopy with adjustable protection from the sun. It comes with Bugaboo’s signature mesh peekaboo window to keep baby cool and allowing parents to keep an eye on their child. The canopy connects to both the pram and toddler seats!

STOW AWAY:

With the Fox 3, the large basket has a 22-pound carrying capacity — that’s more than enough to accommodate all the necessities you need for a day out with babe. But here, the Vista V2 has the advantage. One of our favourite features about the V2 is the HUGE storage basket at the bottom of the stroller. This baby can carry up to 30 lbs of stuff, plus a large opening allows for easy access to your belongings.

FOLD IT UP:

The Bugaboo Fox 3 Complete has a one-piece, self-standing fold as well as a smaller two-piece fold. The Vista V2 has an easy and intuitive one-step fold. The stroller can also stand neatly on its own.

Final Verdict

The Bugaboo Fox 3 and UPPAbaby Vista V2 are undeniably exceptional strollers. Both come is a wide variety of colours that will appeal to any parent’s sense of style.

The Bugaboo Fox 3 Complete’s overall design is very nimble and sleek with a total footprint of 20.5”. The Fox 3 features soft-to-the-touch fabrics that are water-repellent, soft, and durable. Of the two, the Fox 3 is the lighter stroller and a great option for taking on the go while still having all the comforts you and baby need most.

The UPPAbaby Vista V2, on the other hand, comes with a modern look and luxury extras like leather accents and an oversized basket for all your belongings. The Vista V2 also offers options to accommodate more children, which may be handy if you plan on growing your family.
